Expression of interest – General member of Latrobe Health Services Limited

Latrobe is proud to be a not-for-profit mutual company which operates for the benefit of all of our policyholders. While we provide private health insurance to a large number of policyholders, a much smaller number of our policyholders become ‘members’ of Latrobe in a corporate sense. Having active, engaged, informed members is important to us to provide oversight and accountability for our board.

Latrobe has two types of members – director members and general members. All members attend meetings of the members of Latrobe (including our annual general meeting each year) and vote on member matters. Members are required to abide by our Member Charter which emphasises that members must consider the interests of all of our policyholders rather than their own personal interests.

Becoming a general member is an opportunity to become involved in the governance and oversight of your health insurer and a contribution you can make to the wellbeing of our policyholders and the communities where they live and work. General membership is not a paid role, cannot be sold or transferred and does not entitle general members to more favourable treatment in the event that Latrobe ever demutualises. General members are appointed by Latrobe’s board for a 3 year term.

Latrobe is seeking expressions of interest from eligible policyholders who would like to be considered for appointment as a general member. If you are eligible, and wish to be considered, please complete this form and return it to LHS General Members Admin
